Nothing personal is collected from you.
This site is meant to be a quiet room. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, no comment box, no contact form and no advertising. It does not embed social media and does not set cookies for tracking.
Visit statistics
To see which pages are being read, the site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, run by our hosting provider. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, does not follow you to other websites and does not store your IP address. We see only totals, such as page views, referring sites, countries and device types, and never who you are.
The chat
The chat box on the home page and the "Ask" entry on other pages talk to a service at chat.father.help. When you send a message, that message and the replies in the same conversation are sent to that service so the assistant can respond in context. A conversation identifier is kept in your browser's session storage so the conversation holds together while the tab is open; it is discarded when you close the tab. Nothing you type is linked to an account, because there are no accounts.
Shepherd is provided to help you and is not a person. It is a Scripture companion, not God, not a counselor and not a crisis service. Please do not put anything into it that you would not want written down, and if you are in danger, use the crisis lines instead.
Fonts and images
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts and images from our own image host at img.father.help. Requesting those files sends the ordinary technical information any web request sends (such as your IP address) to those servers so the file can be delivered.
If you write to contact@father.help, we keep the email only as long as it takes to deal with it. We do not add addresses to any list.
Clearing what the site has stored
Closing the browser tab clears the chat session identifier. Clearing your browser's site data for father.help removes anything else the browser has cached.
Changes
If this page changes, the change will be visible here. There is no other channel by which it could reach you, which is rather the point.
